unwanted <p> tag in drupal content

I found there was some unwanted

tags coming into the drupal contents. To solve this issue, I followed the steps below:

• go to configure.
• > content authoring
• > text formats
• > configure
• > uncheck convert line breaks to <br>, <p> tags
